Africa is the second-largest continent in the world, with a population of nearly 1.4 billion people, and it should undoubtedly have the future in Olympic-style boxing. This was one of the main topics of discussion during my meeting with the President of the National Olympic Committee of Egypt, Mr. Yasser Idris.
The President expressed his support for WORLD BOXING mission and stated that he will do his best to encourage other African countries to join us on our pathway to secure boxing’s place in the Olympic Movement.
Afterward, I had the opportunity to visit one of the best boxing clubs in Egypt, The Boxing Academy, run by Athens 2004 silver medalist Mohamed Reda Aly The passion and dedication I witnessed from the young boxers during the training session once again reinforced my belief in the importance of World Boxing’s mission.
We will unite all our efforts to save boxing for everyone who dreams of representing their country at the Olympic Games!
