I am delighted that the Ukrainian boxing community has chosen a dedicated and responsible leader, ready to take the necessary steps to advance our sport.
Yesterday, together with Secretary General Simon Toulson, we had the pleasure of meeting Andriy Kotelnyk, Sydney 2000 silver medallist and former WBA World Champion from Ukraine.
Andriy has dedicated his entire life to our sport and has served as President of the Lviv Regional & City Boxing Federations for years. He has now been elected
President of the Ukrainian Boxing Association (Ukrainian Boxing Group), the new governing body established to secure the Olympic dreams of Ukrainian boxers.
This marks a significant step towards Ukraine's goal of joining WORLD BOXING and aiding the international efforts to keep boxing on the programme of LA28, a development we wholeheartedly welcome!
I also had the opportunity to discuss the upcoming boxing tournament in Paris with Andriy, including the final match of Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Khyzhniak and other thrilling
contests we will witness in the final days of this important competition.
I am delighted that the Ukrainian boxing community has chosen a dedicated and responsible leader, ready to take the necessary steps to advance our sport.
