The boxing tournament in Paris is reaching its decisive stage
The boxing tournament in Paris is reaching its decisive stage. The preliminary rounds featured highly competitive matchups, along with two days of medal events.
After a one-day pause, the tournament will continue with four more days of competition, culminating in the crowning of new stars in our sport.
During this tournament, boxers have already achieved several historical milestones. Notably, Cindy Ngamba of the Olympic Refugee
Team has qualified for the semi-final in the 75 kg category, guaranteeing the first-ever medal for the Olympic Refugee Team. Additionally, Caitlin Parker
of Australia secured the first-ever medal for Australian women's boxing at the Games. I believe many more achievements are yet to come in the following days.
Besides the boxing events in Paris, I had interesting meetings at the Korean and Azerbaijan Olympic Houses, where together with my boxing
friends from all over the world, we discussed the performances we witnessed in the French capital. It was also very productive for me to visit the
Esports event, which was well-organized by the Global Esports Federation. I had a good conversation with its CEO, Paul J. Foster, about the
importance of sharing boxing values with other groups of fans around
the world. To me, this is a very interesting way for boxing to develop.
