What makes teams successful? Plus 4 hacks to make your team more successful.
What makes teams successful? Plus 4 hacks to make your team more successful.
Is it hard work? Smarter tools? Or maybe just luck?
What I see time and time again in my work with High-Performance teams is that success is not about what you do, but how you think and collaborate.
That's why I founded "Your Mind Opener": to help teams embrace a different way of thinking and really grow.
Recently, I worked with a team that was stuck in patterns. There was distrust and frustration, despite the fact that the potential was clearly present.
One simple exercise changed everything: telling each other what you are proud of and what you need help with.
The walls disappeared. Cooperation improved. And within weeks, they achieved a result they had been waiting for for months.
As a trainer and neurocoach, I know one thing for sure: the key to growth is not in working harder, but in opening up a different way of thinking. Broadening the mindset.
4 hacks to take your team to the next level today:
1) Ask the questions that no one dares to ask
Teams often get stuck because important conversations are avoided. Dare to challenge your team with questions like:
Where do we really get stuck?
What do we not dare to tackle, but do we know that is necessary?
By being open to uncomfortable answers, you can break down barriers and take steps outside the comfort zone together.
2) Focus on strengths, not weaknesses
Stop filling gaps and start using unique powers. People flourish when they can do what they do best. Ask your team:
What can you contribute in that you really excel?
By building on talents, you create an environment in which teams grow exponentially.
3) Create a safe space for real conversations
Ask yourself and your team:
What do we not dare to discuss, but would make a difference if we did?
How do we create an environment where everyone feels free to be open and honest?
The strength of a team lies in transparency and trust. By naming the pain points together, you create space for breakthroughs.
4) Stop checking, start with confidence
Control inhibits creativity and growth. Trust encourages experimentation, learning and daring to make mistakes. Set goals, but give space. Ask your team:
What do you need from me to perform optimally?
Teams excel when they know that their contribution is appreciated and that they are given the space to grow.
Your Mind Opener is in the name for a reason. Because teams do not grow by working harder, but by looking, thinking, and acting differently.
What is your biggest challenge with your team at the moment? Let me know in the comments, I'd love to think along with you.
