On this momentous day, I wish to once again express my deepest gratitude to the entire boxing community — the boxers, coaches, officials, administrators, and passionate supporters across the globe — who stood with WORLD BOXING from the very beginning.
Together, we have reached a historic milestone: our beloved sport has rightfully reclaimed its place in the Olympic Movement. Boxing is back at the Olympic Games for LA28 — and this victory belongs to all of us.
World Boxing was publicly launched two years ago today and set out five key pledges to:
1️⃣ Keep boxing at the heart of the Olympic movement
2️⃣ Ensure the interests of boxers are put first
3️⃣ Deliver sporting integrity and fair competitions
4️⃣ Create a competition structure designed in the best interests of the boxers
5️⃣ Operate according to strong governance standards and transparent financial management
Two years on it is delivering on all of these. World Boxing has 89 member National Federations and, most importantly, hashtag#BoxingIsBack and has been included in the sport programme at LA28.
To mark this, we look through some of the key milestones and achievements from the first two years of World Boxing.
Thanks to all of the boxers, coaches, officials, administrators, National Federations, volunteers and fans for for their continued support.
