I am probably still known to many as the 'stubborn goalkeeper with the big hands' of the Dutch team that became European champions in 1988. 

Top sport has largely shaped me and laid the foundation for my further social career. My central theme, 'Success is feasible', still makes me a very happy person. After completing my education in pedagogy, helped by an energetic, coaching character with a lot of compassion for people, I further developed as a trainer, coach and manager in various positions.

 It was (and still is) my hobby to bring out the best in people. During my career I have been a guest speaker for many large companies. My last position was as technical director at the KNVB. This 'journey' may not have been entirely successful to the outside world, but for me it was an extremely educational experience and a new opportunity to help people regain their own strength: After 'Winning', 'Top Positions' and 'Make your Comeback', I hereby announce my new book: 'Mental Innovation', which I am publishing in co-authorship with Benno Diederiks and Bas Kodden. As experts in the field of coaching, talent management, self-development and team development, we wrote this book to help people (re)discover their passions and strengths and develop their resilience and learning capacity.
