Introduction
Hendrik, born in Utrecht, Netherlands, grew up on inland vessels, building and navigating ships in the family business.
A firm believer in hands-on experience, he has worked as a diver in the army, stated his first company in 1991- an advertising and marketing consultancy and went on to build bridges.
He is the founder of BRIDGES2000, started in 1999, which began as a company that builds and rents bridges and has subsequently grown into a project development company. The very first assignment for the company was to build a 4.2 km long bridge for pedestrians through the Himalayas, a pivotal project that cemented Hendrik’s principle of “Creating Safe Connections and Fit for Purpose”. Over more than two decades, BRIDGES2000 has serviced the Event, Civil, Maritime and Offshore sector on owned assets, without any loans. The cumulative experience gained from building bridges propelled Hendrik’s motivation into considerable construction projects.

Legacy and future
In early 2007, with the intent of realizing his dream of building, living, working and becoming different, Hendrik started SEVENTH – a name that connotes breaking free from self-condemnation. Seventh is inspired by the legendary Atlantis and came about from a prophecy lucid dream that lasted exactly 40 nights.
It is ambitious visionary project envisaged as a floating island with a merkaba consisting of a large pyramid building surrounded by six smaller ones, to replicated in 10 cities around the world. True to seventh’s philosophy: ‘The Other Way of Living,’ the project vision also includes an island where healthy living and sustainability would be central to elevating the future of living. SEVENTH is a Big dream built on a framework of ethics and ethos for realization of resilient sustainable societies. Incorporating best practices for a humanity driven ecosystem and ethical engagement of people, processes and uses of technology are part of its realization.
“Resilient sustainability is my vision and perspective on how to build future societies.”
“SEVENTH the project I dreamed of, stands for ‘Elevating the Quality of Life’
From an early age, Hendrik developed a ‘no nonsense’ approach to life. Intuitive thinking, determination, continuous learning and an unrelenting quest for better living have been guiding him throughout life.
What started as a natural ability to help people decipher emotions and better themselves, has become a lifelong passion for psychology. Hendrik’s other interests include reading, films, deciphering thoughts and understanding cultures.
A globe-trotter, Hendrik has explored many places in the world and has assimilated as many cultures. Currently, he lives in The Netherlands, Spain and Dubai.
