Recherchebureau Incognito - Private Investigators
Based in The Netherlands but operating on a global scale, Incognito specializes in business crime and private investigations. We investigate people and businesses in the context of criminal, business and personal activities.
In these investigations we focus on establishing facts and situations by collecting and analyzing data and gather information from different sources. Recherchebureau Incognito uses various methods of investigation. Our findings are recorded in well-documented reports, that can possibly be used as evidence in the Courts. The expertise of our team of investigators is based on many years of professional experience gained at working for banks, insurance companies and IT firms. We also contract outside investigators with a background in law enforcement.
Our approach:
- In the orientation phase, we determine the project's potential for success, free of charge.
- We aim at getting maximum results in compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Before we start the investigation, we present a road map and an estimate of the costs involved.
- Any methods and means of investigation are discussed in detail with our clients before we start the investigation, in compliance with the privacy rules applicable to their situation and/or business.
- You keep track of the investigation. All progress is reported and evaluated.
- The results of our investigations are presented to you in detailed reports (final or interim).
Discretion and quality are at the heart of our service. It goes without saying that we keep you actively informed about the progress of the investigation. The owner Herma Kluin grew up in an entrepreneurial family in the eastern part of the country, with a twin sister and younger brother. As a child, she was constantly on the hunt for adrenaline kicks. A night drop in a deep, dark forest? Herma ran ahead, because at the back the scare effect was not nearly as good. Her career was started in banking and insurance. Life rippled on until she was fifty. Then everything changed.
She started looking for the fire from her youth and decided to call private investigator Ben Zuidema. The man she had kept all the newspaper articles from for years. To her own surprise, he answered and invited her to his office. He listened to her story in which she told him she had been dreaming of a career as a private investigator for years and decided to train with him to become a private investigator, quit her office job and set up detective agency Incognito.
'Exciting, then you must often be shadowing couples who cheat,' she is often told at parties when asked about her work. 'Fortunately, I rarely do adultery cases, because it's almost always misery when you have to confront them about it afterwards.'
Many requests involve alimony fraud. 'In most cases, the ex-partner secretly lives with a new partner but still unjustly collects alimony. My job is to provide evidence of fraud.' In addition, stalking and vice cases come up regularly, and the number one priority is 'sick leave fraud.' 'It is difficult for employers to check whether an employee is sick or not. Often a brief observation is enough to find out the truth. Where my heart is, however, are 'missing persons cases.'
She is hopeful that with new leads, steps will still be taken. 'The sad thing is that Elke's mother has since passed away. I promised her that I will keep going until Elke is found.' She still receives emails about the case, the useful ones of which she passes on to the police. 'I received tips about someone who was not yet a suspect in the case, and who already appears to have more on his record. Then all alarm bells go off with me and I take immediate action.
In 2021, she won the Wintrade Woman Of The Year Award. "It has given me a lot of international exposure which is very useful in my work.
Her great quality as a private investigator, she believes, is that she can bite into a case like a pit bull, has little fear and is self-reliant. The latter is a positive outcome of an upbringing that had little support and love. I had to be independent very early on as a child, which is why I stand my ground extremely well in the predominantly "Alpha culture.
