This weekend, Utrecht was transformed into the epicenter of wrestling, where the 51st Easter Wrestling Tournament took place. With a record number of 686 participants from 24 different countries and more than 1200 exciting matches, the tournament exceeded all expectations. Teams from countries such as Hong Kong, the United States, Kyrgyzstan, Ukraine, and Canada competed against each other, with athletes at the highest level competing for the gold.
The energy and talent on display in Utrecht once again confirmed the Easter Wrestling Tournament's status as one of the most prestigious events on the international wrestling calendar. The organization of this large-scale event was possible thanks to the efforts of more than 90 volunteers per day, from De Halter and other Dutch wrestling clubs. Their dedication and hard work contributed to a flawless organization, something that was also widely recognized and celebrated on social media. Praising words such as “legendary tournament, very well organized and we will 100% come again next year” were no exception.
The board of De Halter would like to express its gratitude to NRW Ringen, all volunteers, participants, and visitors for their contribution to the success of the tournament. Given this year's overwhelming success, the next tournament promises to be another unmissable event for wrestling fans worldwide.
