Today, February 11, 2025, Human Rights in Finance.EU (HRIF.EU)
has initiated emergency legal proceedings against the Ministry of Finance.
The reason is the repeated refusal - contrary to previous firm commitments - to provide openness
about policy agreements with De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) and the Dutch Banking Association (NVB) on transaction monitoring by banks.โ
Two fundamental issues are central. Firstly, the Ministry of Finance refuses to switch to a lawful reporting system for suspicious transactions.
Secondly, confidential information shows that the Ministry of Finance made a toleration agreement with DNB and the banks to condone illegal,
privacy-invading joint transaction monitoring. HRIF.EU now demands speedy and full disclosure of these agreements.
