Because one of our coaches was unexpectedly struck down by the flu today, I started guiding the 'science heroes' myself in 'making DNA'. 

Children aged 6 to 8 years went together with Robin Bos 🟥 from the UMC Utrecht to investigate what their own DNA looks like. 🧢 

Despite the difficult subject, Robin Bos 🟥 knew how to keep the children 'on track' and to enthuse them! 

🧢 What is DNA and how can you tell that everyone's DNA is different? Questions that were answered with fun games. 

The children were also allowed to imitate their own DNA with vegetables, fruit and candy laces. 🧢 

Through an interesting and exciting experiment, the children eventually got their DNA from their own 'cheek cells' in a plastic tube (on a string around their necks) to take home. 🧢 

As an (unpaid) director of Stichting Petje af Amersfoort, I was able to see and experience with my own eyes today how fun and educational our program is for children and how grateful we can be with our volunteer coaches and with guest teachers (volunteers) as Robin Bos 🟥. Really many thanks all !! 🧢
